Newton Cap

The Newton cap is inspired by Sir Isaac Newton, who famously formulated his theory of gravity while sitting under a tree. Modern science reveals that beneath tree leaves, we are exposed to particularly high levels of near-infrared (NIR) light, as foliage strongly reflects this spectrum. NIR light can penetrate the skull and interact with brain cells — perhaps the tree itself played a more prominent role in Newton’s discovery than previously thought.

We created the Newton cap to honor great breakthroughs and inspire new ones. Evidence shows that near-infrared light can enhance cognition, creativity, processing speed, and reaction time — benefits that are invaluable both for adults and schoolchildren.
